Brazos Bend State Park

I spent the morning at BBSP on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. I carried a bunch of gear and covered about four miles in the three hours I was there thanks to my trusty trike. Was excited to see that the Lotus were in bloom again and there were even more along 40-acre Lake than last year. I didn’t see any Green Herons fishing this time, but I spent most of my time on the flowers.

I did see one strange creature moving through the water. Holy mackerel. The gators are starting to wear camo.

This dragonfly is an adolescent Four-spotted Pennant. It was perching nicely on a not so nice Powdery Thalia stalk. Wish the flowers were prettier, but the dragon is so cute.

Why did the turtle… okay, I know, silly.

It was a fun morning.
