Bronze Mannikins

Bronze Mannikins at Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City

On January 4th, 2014, I spent a little bit of time with a species of bird I had never seen before. They were later identified for me as Bronze Mannikins.

The birds were foraging on the ground at the end of the trail across the drainage ditch from the boat launch area.

I never did get a good photo, but I did get a few that were good enough to ID the birds.
