Big Bend National Park – August 2015
It was another fun trip to Big Bend on a photography workshop with Kathy Adams Clark. The thunderstorms became the highlight of this trip. They gave us many opportunities to hone our skills at lightning photography. We also devoted some time to creating starbursts.
A few of my favorites from this trip …
The participants …
Jon and I are not in the tunnel silhouette photo. I’m taking the photo and Jon is setting up for his photo. See that little bump of black silhouette on the left edge – that’s Jon. 🙂 The order of folks from left to right are Allen, Vicki, Darrell, Kathy, Connie and Heathre.
The second photo is a fisheye image that I cropped so we can see all those smiling faces.
The exciting stuff – Lightning and a Scorpion …
The lightning shots were composited from more than one photo. The road on the first image was lit by a car. I closed the shutter right before the car entered the frame.
Scorpions glow under black lights (UV). I brought a black light and found several scorpions. This one was on our porch right next to our door. Eeeek.
